Singapore's First Public Housing Estate Pool

Queenstown Swimming Complex opened on 15 August 1970, making it the first public swimming pool built in a housing estate in Singapore. It was a milestone in the nation's early push to bring recreational facilities into the heart of residential neighbourhoods.

The complex became a centre for competitive aquatics. It was the training ground for the Singapore national water polo team and home to the Queenstown Water Polo Club, and its diving pool was one of the few public diving facilities in Singapore.

For over five decades it served families in Queenstown, Commonwealth, Tanglin Halt and the surrounding estates.

The complex closed on 15 May 2023 for redevelopment and reopened on 8 August 2026 as part of the refreshed ActiveSG Queenstown Sport Centre.
